API Characterisation and Formulation Support
Nanopharm Ltd has developed a novel AFM based approach which enables direct quantification of the cohesive-adhesive balance (CAB™) of an API. The screening tool can be utilised to determine:
- Characteristic measurements of the CAB™ value of specific API-excipient combinations
- Variations in the CAB™ value of API batches, Enabling direct characterisation of batch-to-batch variability
- The influence of processing and storage conditions on the force balance of an API within a formulation
- The influence of accelerated environmental conditions on the force balance of an API via CAB™
The CAB™ screening tool allows informed decisions to be made at critical stages during the R&D stages and facilitate quality control measures to be introduced earlier into the processing, handling and storage of the API for formulation support.
